Natural Ways to Ease Aches and Pains

We all get aches and pains, it's part of life and part of getting older. Most people's instinct is to pop some pain medicine or shrug off the pain. Listen to your body and get out of that funk with these 5 natural ways to ease the discomfort. Of course, if you have serious pains you should consult a doctor.

Hydrate

Hydrating seems like such a simple thing that we all do daily. However, most people aren't really drinking enough water. Did you know the minimum amount of water you should drink per day is 64 oz? And you should be drinking even more if you exercise or are trying to lose weight. While drinking water may not cure your pains, it will help avoid muscle cramping and headaches.

Epsom Salts

Epsom Salts are high in magnesium and sulfates and are easily absorbed through the skin to provide quick relief. Put the salts in a warm bath, sit back and relax. The salts in combination with the warm water will relax muscles and ease tension. Learn more about Epsom Salts here

Hot/Cold Therapy

Sometimes the pain is caused by overexercising, not stretching or moving one's body in ways that you're not used to. When those pains arise a great form of relief is to use hot therapy. On the flip side, if you have swollen or painful trouble spots it's soothing to use cold therapy. These hot/cold therapy items can be used for both!

Massage

Massages not only feel great, but they can help release tension and loosen tight muscles. You can choose from tons of different types of massages to focus on your problem areas, or opt for a full body. Learn more about the types of massages here.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cide Vinegar (ACV) has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which relieve pain and inflammation. Add a tablespoon of ACV to a glass of warm water (add some honey if you need it.) You can also add apple cider vinegar to your bathwater and soak in it for added benefits. Learn about the other health benefits of ACV here.
